01: Better Energy, Less Caffeine
I used to reach for coffee lattes to survive the mid-afternoon slump, but they often left me wired, tired, and scattered.
When I left law to start my tea business, I needed steady focus more than ever. Switching to tea helped, but the bigger shift was what I paired with it - small rituals that created space to breathe, check in, and reset. I wasn’t chasing more understanding, I wanted better energy.
Coffee isn’t the enemy. It just stops working for some of us, especially when it becomes a loop of craving, spike, and crash, or when it messes with sleep and anxiety.
Tea works differently. It contains L-theanine, which can smooth the effect of caffeine and support calm attention. That’s why matcha can feel focused without the jitters, and why lower-caf options like hojicha can be a perfect bridge. Rooibos is great when you want a real downshift.
Try this today: make one tea, no phone. While it steeps, take a few slow breaths. Then ask, “What do I actually need right now?”
