The Curiosity Cup
Conformity gets results. That’s the problem.
It rewards the polished, the proven, the predictable.
And that’s exactly how your best ideas die.
You don’t lose your creativity all at once.
You trade it, bit by bit, for approval, applause, and alignment.
I know. I used to ask all the wrong questions:
“Will this make sense to others?”
“Does this fit the trend?”
“Is this too weird?”
But the best ideas? They never fit at first.
They arrive when no one’s watching.
In the stillness.
In the steam.
In the moments we usually rush through.
One of my most “out-there” ideas - born during a tea break I nearly skipped - became my Tea Mind System.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
Conformity scales.
Curiosity surprises.
One gives you a ladder.
The other hands you a shovel and asks: Want to dig?
So today:
Don’t polish your idea. Don’t test it. Don’t crowdsource it.
Sit. Brew. Listen.
Then follow the whisper no one else can hear.
What’s one idea you haven’t told anyone because it feels too out there?
p.s. I’m drinking Coconut & Tumeric Chai this week.

Daily Curious Habits
UCSB’s Curiosity App A research-backed smartphone app by UCSB (Center for Mindfulness & Human Potential) that gamifies curiosity cultivation. Users get daily mini-challenges like “ask a friend what they learned today,” “listen with fresh ears,” or “tune into your surroundings with wonder.” Early results show these small nudges can shift personality traits toward sustained curiosity.
