01: Most people drink tea for the taste.
I drink Hojicha for the effect.
Matcha’s having its moment.
Powdered Hojicha isn’t loud about it but it’s quietly winning people over.
Roasted green tea with a soft, nutty taste.
It’s the middle ground between matcha’s buzz and coffee’s crash.
It gives me focus, minus the tension.
Coffee makes my afternoons jittery.
I love matcha, but after 3pm, it messes with my sleep.
Hojicha lets me think clearly and sleep deeply.
Now it’s part of my early evening rhythm.
A hojicha latte with oat milk and a little honey.
While it steeps, I breathe or write. Just something to slow my pace.
I give my mind full permission to slow down.
It helps me shift gears - without needing to crash first.
If you’re stuck in the cycle of tension and noise, try this:
Mix 1 tsp of hojicha in 50ml, 85°C water.
Add steamed milk and a dash of honey.
Take one minute to breathe.
Write down what’s weighing on you.
Then drink.
Repeat tomorrow.
It’s a quiet way to reset and keep your edge.
Pass it on.

03: Roasting Enhances Green Tea Benefits
This article in Stir Tea & Coffee reports a clinical study found that people performed better on mental tasks after drinking roasted green tea (hojicha) than after green tea or warm water, despite hojicha’s lower caffeine content. Researchers suggest its roasted aroma compounds may reduce fatigue, moderate stress, and gently enhance brain function through sensory stimulation rather than stimulation alone.
