01: Tea is not the point…
Most people think tea is the point.
It’s not.
The point is who you are while the water boils.
What you notice when you slow down.
I had a friend over recently. Normally, I’d hand her a mug.
This time, I did something different.
I let her choose from my vast collection. She picked Toasted Caramel Cookie.
The smell clearly took her somewhere familiar.
I brewed a pot. Intentionally.
We drank from handmade cups that told stories of the sea.
We talked. And listened.
It wasn’t about the tea.
It was about what the tea made possible.
When you slow the process, you change the experience.
Next time you make a cup, pause.
Notice how you show up.
What is your tea showing you today?
p.s. today I’m enjoying the seasonal Toasted Caramel Cookie black tea to give me my spark back.
