01: The Beauty of Just Enough…
When you try to include everything, you risk tasting nothing at all.
Last week, I ran a Tea Blending Workshop for @Maison De Moggy, Scotland’s first cat café.
It was the first one I’ve done in a while. And it reminded me why I love this work.
We started with a tea meditation, moved through tasting sessions, and then everyone was free to create their own blend from a table of beautiful ingredients.
And that’s when the magic happened.
Some people approached with clarity: “I want something soothing, floral, light.” Their blends reflected that.
Others? They reached for everything.
Chamomile. Clove. Peppermint. Liquorice. Hibiscus. Rooibos. Cacao. All in one cup.
And the result? A beige muddle.
Too much drowned the special.
It made me wonder, how often do we do the same in our own lives?
Say yes to everything. Fill every hour. Add every idea. Please every voice.
And end up with nothing memorable.
Sometimes, choosing less is what allows the flavour to shine.
Maybe the blend you’re looking for isn’t found in more.
But in clarity. In intention. In just enough.
Are you in a season of blending or simplifying?
p.s. today I’m enjoying the seasonal The Balanced Mind white tea to support me to rebalance and gain clarity.
