Tea Routine: The Comparison Trap
Everyone looked so happy that evening.
We were on top of a sand dune in Morocco, drinking mint tea as the sun melted into the Sahara.
Laughter. Warmth. Simplicity.
And yet…
Montesquieu whispers a quiet truth:
“If we only wanted to be happy, it would be easy; but we want to be happier than other people, and that is almost always difficult, since we think them happier than they are.”
Comparison robs joy.
We chase happiness like it’s a race...
But the view from the dune didn’t need a scoreboard.
Just the people I love, the warmth of tea, and the gold of the setting sun.
That was enough.
Maybe the problem isn’t that happiness is hard to find.
Maybe it’s that we keep looking over the fence to check how green it is on the other side.
What if we measured our life not in likes, but in moments like these?
Would you trade your own happiness just to appear happier?
Or are you ready to reclaim what’s already yours?
What’s a tiny, perfect moment you overlooked while chasing more?
