Tea Routine: The No Tea Routine
No is not rejection. It's a decision.
For years, I said yes when I meant no.
Yes to extra work.
Yes to obligations that drained me.
Yes to keeping the peace while betraying myself.
I thought I was being kind.
I was actually disappearing.
Here’s what I learned:
Every no to what depletes you is a yes to what restores you.
Yes to rest.
Yes to creativity.
Yes to the people and projects that matter most.
When I began saying no with intention, my world didn’t collapse.
It clarified.
It calmed.
It became my own.
If no still feels hard, try this:
The 5-Step Tea Routine for Boundaries
1. Be Present
As you prepare your tea, check in with your body.
Where are you saying yes out of fear, not alignment?
2. Breathe and Set Intention
Use box breathing. Repeat: I honor my time and energy.
3. Brew and Reflect
Recall a moment you wished you had said no.
What stopped you?
4. Sip and Strengthen
With each sip, picture yourself choosing differently next time.
5. Ground and Affirm
Say aloud: Saying no is an act of self-care.
Say it until it feels true.
You don’t owe anyone your overwhelm.
You owe yourself clarity, energy, and truth.
Is this your season of too many yeses?
Then it's time to listen to this episode of The Tea Mind Podcast -
on the quiet, liberating power of no.
